| Bus enthusiasts organised a farewell tour on the Nissan Diesel U31RCN. This was in lieu of the earlier announcements that SMRT Buses would withdraw all 65 units of the Nissan buses and the Scania L113CRL with ELBO bodywork combined.
The tour was held on the afternoon and evening of Saturday, 6 Dec 2008, which was shortly a few days after several units of UDs (the trademark name for this fleet of buses) withdrew from Service 852 in large numbers. This tour was the first time in the Farewell Tour history that two buses were chartered simultaneously - one was an Original Air-con, CSS 0185P, which was one of the affected buses that went out of Service 852 a day before the tour. The same bus is to head to it's next 'home' on Service 981 after the tour. The other one, a Converted Air-con, CSS 0194M, has been serving Service 975 for several months and is the sole-remaning bus on that service at the time of the tour. The tour went round several historical places in Singapore, with parts of it's route largely concentrating on those where the former City Shuttle Services had plied before, which included Services 603, 605 and 608. In addition, the buses went to some of Singapore's most deserted places, with one of them being Seletar West where only SBS Transit's Service 103M plys this road.
